Default Heat Press Imprints on the top platen

I have only done a few heat pressed items (shirts and bags) and the impressions are being left on the top inside cover of my press (a clam shell 15 x 15). I am also using a teflon sheet on the top and a bottom fitted pad. One questions is - Is this going to hurt future heated products AND how can I clean the top off without destroying it?
Thank you for any help anyone could give me.
Kathleen

Default Re: Heat Press Imprints

I always just wipe mine off with a test shirt while I'm pressing.
