Hope someone can help, im hoping to start a small tshirt printing business from home in the next few weeks
however im totally confused as which company to buy from, ebay are selling clam presses very cheaply, but im not sure if they are reliable.
I have been in contact with a company called magic touch they seem to have great back up but are really expensive I dont mind buying better equipment but if I dont need to spend as much to get started I dont want to waste money if I dont need to I live in Scotland hopefully someone in the UK can give me some advice
many thanks
ebay is not really the best route unless the seller gives support. They are cheap though and i have had some very good reliable stuff off ebay. If you see a good name one it's worth bidding.
I got a leaflet from target transfers the other day, they got some good presses and try subli-nation ( that's the right spelling ) as they do recons and special offers.
You could always rent one, i think graphityp do them on rent.

Ann, Just my two penneth, go for the best you can afford, the press can be one of the most expensive bits of kit you will buy in this industry. The Magic Touch are excellent to work with, I have been using them for many years. Don't be fooled by the cheap presses on ebay, they may not last long and have no customer support / spares if anything goes wrong. I would wholehartedley reccomend a press by A.Adkins ltd, they are the ones sold by The Magic Touch and Xpres, ok so they are an expensive outlay but would you prefer to buy cheap and potentially replace every few years or buy a well made one that lasts much longer?. I've been using an Adkins Maxi 38 x 50 swing away press for many years without a problem.
Thanks for that Dave, im definately going to take your advice.
To be honest i thought they sounded really good but being so new to all this I needed a second opinion.
also do you know where I can get funny slogans for tshirts?
sorry for being a pest!!

People usually make up their own funny slogans for t-shirts.
Ann, I agree with Rodney, imagination is a great thing, also get some ideas from ones on ebay, or just keep your eyes open and look out for people waring them in your town......guessing funny slogans can't be copyrighted, but i'm not sure on this.....
