Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I've been doing embroidery for years, but brand new at the heat press end of things. I want to offer my customers quality shirts and so far my results have been so-so. What are the pros and cons of laser printer vs inkjet? What are the "pigment inks"? where do I get them and how do I identify them? pros and cons of hot vs cold peel? (I've been using an inkjet printer, regular inks, pretty standard transfer paper and both hot and cold peel) I could use a lot of advice. THank you !!!
welcome to the forums, sewon. Laser transfers, genereally, will give you better results than inkjet transfers. Do a forum search on some keywords and you'll get lots of infos.
If you have further questions feel free to ask. You may want to consider plastisol transfers if you get bulk orders from your customers. An initial inkjet printed transfer on a shirt may look great at first but it does deteriorate after several washes and that may be a turn off for your customers if you want repeat business.
