Imprinables sells foil for cutters. I have done a few shirts with samples from a few companies but I cut the design with my cutter.

No I'm talking about actual tranfers with foil apparently you press the paper on shirt (not sure which paper) then lay and heat press the foil on top, seen an article in image magazine but its not clear what paper is used

Foils will adhere to plastisol. You can either direct print or use plastisol transfers and then press with foil.

I think i know what you mean, i've seen where a 'glue' is printed onto a material and then a sheet of foil is put over and pressed, once the glue had dried the excess foil was pulled off leaving the design. It's no help i know and i have no idea where i saw it or who does it. Sorry.

I think Rodney showed how to do it on one of the Plastisol Transfers reviews.

You can do the application part yourself, but you have to outsource the foil transfers to a plastisol transfer printer.

Versatranz does this type of printing I think.

The new KissCut paper has a foil option, you print as normal with the KissCut paper then overlay with metallic foils. Rather like the old style Omnicrom you could do with laser.

Is this what you mean, not sure (for once if this is available in the US).

No association with the manufacturers but the site is KISSGOODBYETOCUTTING

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for... but, Dharma Trading has the Jones Tones foils and glue for application to fabric, leather etc. The glue can be drawn on the fabric or stamped on (I don't know if it can be screen-printed on). Once the glue is in place, it dries "tacky," and then you rub the foil onto it, and it is permanently transferred to the areas of glue on the shirt/fabric. Check out Dharma Trading Co. Homepage for more information. I have not used it yet, but am planning to try it with stamped images. Hope this helps,

Thanks all for your imput, I know about the laying over with foil process its a matter of finding the right transfer paper which leaves a tacky print allowing the foil to stick. It seems like plastisol is the best way I'll need to speak to a screen printer. I'm in the UK things seem to be different over here ot it might be that I'm just new to it all. I know one thing and that is we pay a lot more for things, everone on here raves about american apparel so thought I'd like to try but it will cost me wholesale price £8 yes thats ££££ for a simple vest plus £15 for a handling charge.

Debbie, have a look at The Transfer Press they are agents for KissCut and sell the range. Talk to either Grahame or Julia, they are very helpful.

Thanks Sharon I'll do that, I've had a free sample pack from them already but not had a chance to use any of the papers yet.

We need to have distributors for the KissCut in USA. I wonder what it would take to get them to let me distribute it here.
