Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
the dark transfer paper i'm using right now won't print white. it comes out mixed between white and whatever color its being pressed on. i was wondering is that normal for all opaque transfers?

what paper r u using and what is your temp time and pressure. it matters

Sounds like the transfer paper you are using is not an opaque material. Opaque material is white which blocks the shirt color. If it is opaque, you might be pressing too hard which causes the shirt color to bleed through the opaque material. The white color of the opaque material is going to be the white of the image that is not printed with ink/toner.
What is the brand name of the opaque material?

and it sounds like his dwell time is too long. when i first used it that was my problem until i figure out it doesn't always take as long as the instruction give u .
i only press like 8-10 seconds at 375 -390 and i'm good white is white and etc.
try covering the "antistick" with another 4 or 5 sheets of bond plain white paper and you will be able to minimize the "bleeding" of colors from your shirt. You might also want to try reducing your dwell time and temperature. Last option is to rinse the shirt first (in water), let it dry before you press; or you might want to try a different brand of shirt.
I'm having the same problem. I'm using plastisol heat transfers. I think my problem may be too much pressure, as well as to long a dwell time. I'm gonna do a couple shirts today and see ho they turn out.
i'll try that too. i have a manual press so how do u know what med pressure is? is low pressure when u can move the shirt around in the press when its clamped down?

i do have around if u have the turn dial. and no the shirt cannot move around on med pressure.
hope this helps.
