Default Lost vacuum in one of the bottles in my continuous ink system

I seem to have lost the vacuum in one of my ink bottles. I let it get too low before refilling and now that I have refilled all the bottles, I can't get the yellow to flow. I can blow thru the vent tube and get the ink to the cartridge, but it will not stay there.

My CIS is 6 bottles, each with a tube that leads to the cartridge and a vent tube. There is a plastic piece on top of the bottle that will pinch the ink tube shut. I have tried blowing the ink through the tube and pinching the tube shut, then opening the bottle to release the pressure, close the bottle then open the line. That didn't work. If the line is pinched, it doesn't print at all. If it is open with air all in the line it will print stripes.

Can anyone give me some instructions on how to get the vacuum going again?

Thanks,
Ushie

Default Re: Lost vacuum in one of the bottles in my continuous ink system

I am on my second CIS cartridge set. I have an Epson 1280 with a CIS system from Coastal Business Supply. A few days ago I noticed the yellow had stopped printing and I was getting blues instead of greens. So, I took the plastic clip off of the cartridges (the one that holds it down against the reset chip) and took the colored cartridge out. I used the suction thing they gave me along with one of the attachments that fits into the hole on the bottom of the cartridge. Over a paper towel, I suctioned the yellow ink until it pulled quite a bit out into the suction thing. It also helps if you lift your yellow ink bottle up high above the level of the cartridges. It worked for me, good luck.

Well it worked for two test patterns and then will not pull ink any longer. I'm afraid I'll have to get a new CIS system like I did about 2 months ago. Anybody have a CIS system they like besides Coastals?
