Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
Not under that name but they are from the same manufacture and sold under different names. That is the only difference. If you ask has anyone used it my answer would be absolutely.. they don't call me the "iron all king" for nothing..

Yes i have been using the iron all Transfer paper and other like it under different brand names, the first day it was sold. It is a soft paper like it is written. you will have to try it for yourself for ink and heat settings including a wash test.
Okay, Lou, if you're the king, how do you keep IronAll from fading so much in the first wash?
You wrap it in a plastic bag so it does not get wet... I said this before and I will say it again. The expectations of iron All and the other papers like it are too high. This is Ink folks.. Not paint, not plastisol. It will wash away. It may take longer based on the type of washing it gets but it will fade. If you print with dye inks it will also bleed. The product has limited durability. If I do a job with Iron all it will probably be on a tote bag. if a customer has a picture and wants to use it tell them the characteristics of the product. That is it.. Long live the king.. By the way i did not give my self that title it Was John at new Milford..

I completely understand that, Lou. I didn't mean to upset you. But still, you seem to be able to get better results from IronAll than I did.
I'm using an Epson C88+ with DuraBright Pigment Inks.
It's just that after my first wash it looked like the shirt was 10 years old.
YES, I know there will be some fading. I just didn't expect it to be so bad. It looked and felt AWESOME before washing, but it just looks BAD afterward.
I think it was you that mentioned that cold water stablizes it some? Well, what if I soaked it in cold water (no detergent) for a while (after waiting 24 hours for it to fully cure), dried it on low heat (the problem is that I live in an apartment building and it costs me $1.25 for each dryer load and I can't guarantee that I'll have more than one shirt to dry at a time and I also can't even guarantee that the dryer will be available...). Would that be considered selling my customers "used" shirts? Would it even help?
Lastly, the directions I have say 365-380 degrees for 15-20 seconds with medium pressure (for Everlast). I pressed at 365 for 20 seconds with high pressure (I really wanted to get it in the shirt). Would that have made a difference in its outcome after washing?
I'm just really frustrated because so many people say it's a wonderful transfer, but I'm just having such bad luck with it.
I'll do another press on another shirt and wash that in cold water first then in warm or hot water to see if that makes a difference. I say I'll wash it in warm to hot water afterward because I'm sure that's what my customers will ultimately do. That's how you're SUPPOSED to be able to wash whites.
I know I can give wash instructions with my shirts, and my target market is women, so they may be more likely to follow instructions.
I have one transfer already printed and one sheet after that, but if I can't get decent results by then I'm moving to another paper.
I'd use solely plastisol for this, but it's not looking good, even with Freedom transfers, for my designs. They're just too intricate. I guess I'll get my answer on Monday if F&M can do my designs with Freedom transfers.
Again, Lou, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you.

What makes you think you upset me. I am not upset. i was just kidding about the plastic bag.. I said it before and I will say it again. There are variables to everything. Now my wife wash all our clothes in Tide in cold water. Could that be it. maybe hot water and Tide will make it come out worse? I don't know. I think it was said before , throw all the instructions out the window because people do their wash different ways.
To be really honest lately almost all my work has been done in plastisol and vinyl. It is just the way things have been. when I started this business I would do
a lot of tote bags and one of a kind. My business has evolved to quantity orders and now I use very little iron all or opaque. And to be honest I am happy about that. between doing signs, tees and tee squares.. I have enough to keep this old retired guy from sitting in the rocker.. And again.. Chanti you did not upset me.. well actually you did. it upset me thinking you thought I was upset.. LOL

I have always thought of you as a King LOU. I might start calling you the Great tan father , the all knowing, the omnipotent one, and last but not least my hero. ......JB the #1 fan of the great Badalou
Hi raymond.
There are Hundreds of transfer paper ink jet , laser and other types of printing. try to get some samples of different Treansfer paper and do a test.
You will find a paper that you like and will use. The ironall and other brands of paper is good for some of my projects but i also use other brand of paper. If you own a laser printer try some laser transfers and you will find if you want to go the laser or ink jet. Ironall or brands like it or other different ink jet papers.
