Default Teflon Heat Pads - do they have an inner lining?

Can someone describe how the teflon slip cover for the bottom platen is made?

I just got one that's a crunchy, see-through, brown piece of creased plastic (think balled-up wax paper) with what looks like womens nylons for the stretchy corner parts.

It fits on my press like a plastic grocery bag.
This doesn't seem right.

I think you got a teflon "sheet" instead of a teflon "pad" (or pillow).

A teflon "pad" has a little pillow cushion inside of it.

There's also the quick slip pad protector that goes on the bottom platen to make the shirts easy to slide on and off.

Can someone please describe your slip protector for me...is it lined on the inside?
Is it soft on the outside...or crunchy and creased?

Please just try answer my question as directly as possible.
That would be the most help.

My slip pad protector is not lined on the inside.

It's meant to make the shirts easier to slide on top of it, so I don't think they would have a lining under it. It does have material around the edges that helps it to fit snugly across the bottom of the press.

Mine is pulled tight across the bottom of my press, so it's smooth. I don't know if I'd call it "soft".

What exactly are you expecting of the quick slip pad protector?

Here's a picture I found of the top of my teflon pad.

Thank you Rodney, that's was helpful...
but it appears you got the same kind I do...the homemade kind.

This is what I was expecting:
Vinyl Cutters, heat presses, heat transfer material, transfer papers and heat printing supplies all at affordable prices.

I could have bought my own teflon sheet for $20 and taped it to the bottom of my press...
and I would have had enough extra left over for a loose upper SHEET as well.

All I'm saying is, for the $50 spent I would prefer to have gotten the "manufactured" version that's advertised.

Did you get your slipcover from Imprintables?
If so, I think I'll end up making my own.

Looks like the same thing to me. Just different color material used.

It works just as advertised.

hey Jay,

the ones we use are a thick teflon with an elastic type fabric sewed around the teflon perimiter (edges) to the teflon, a few inches wide that sits under the bottom pad ...elastic/snug/tight.

the pillows, again are a thick teflon with some soft stuff inside (du-no what it is), exactly like a pillow.

i would post some pics but i'm out of town.

good ones are pricy, but they last forever.

Yeah, I've been printing for a while now...
and I've learned that quality equipment is everything!

I don't mind paying for it...
but I DO mind being hustled by companies that assume everyone is a noob!

Could you possibly PM me where I can get a thick slipcover?
I don't want to make this mistake again.

Otherwise I'm just gonna buy a teflon sheet on eBay and make my own.
