Can someone describe how the teflon slip cover for the bottom platen is made?
I just got one that's a crunchy, see-through, brown piece of creased plastic (think balled-up wax paper) with what looks like womens nylons for the stretchy corner parts.
It fits on my press like a plastic grocery bag.
This doesn't seem right.

My slip pad protector is not lined on the inside.
It's meant to make the shirts easier to slide on top of it, so I don't think they would have a lining under it. It does have material around the edges that helps it to fit snugly across the bottom of the press.
Mine is pulled tight across the bottom of my press, so it's smooth. I don't know if I'd call it "soft".
What exactly are you expecting of the quick slip pad protector?
Here's a picture I found of the top of my teflon pad.
I could have bought my own teflon sheet for $20 and taped it to the bottom of my press...
and I would have had enough extra left over for a loose upper SHEET as well.
All I'm saying is, for the $50 spent I would prefer to have gotten the "manufactured" version that's advertised.
Did you get your slipcover from Imprintables?
If so, I think I'll end up making my own.

hey Jay,
the ones we use are a thick teflon with an elastic type fabric sewed around the teflon perimiter (edges) to the teflon, a few inches wide that sits under the bottom pad ...elastic/snug/tight.
the pillows, again are a thick teflon with some soft stuff inside (du-no what it is), exactly like a pillow.
