Default Pigment Ink for earlier Epson Printers in UK

I've just tried the KissCut paper out using my Epson 1200 loaded with Lysonic Inks. Left overnight and washed in cold water, as expected really the inks have run, transfer looked great before then

Now the problem is I already run 7 different printers
Roland ColorCamm PC60
Epson photo 1200
Epson Stylus 1520
Brother HL1440 (workhorse)
MagiColor 2200DL
Epson C92 (subli printer)
and last but not least a Citizen Printiva 700

I don't need another printer

Is there anywhere in the UK I can obtain true pigment inks without the additional cost of a CIS, or will I just have to wait until WOW 7.1 is available to non Magic Touch customers.

I need to be able to print onto Orange and White 4XL and 5XL t-shirts which I can't get for subli, the print is only 2 colours for the white (orange & black) and 1 for the orange (black). I've tried a sample of the subli dark but my customer doesn't like the look of it on the t-shirt.

Hope someone can help

Sharon,

Is the design to complex to use cut vinyl with your PC60, or even print and cut?

If so, I will look into sourcing pigment inks for you closer, guessing though you'll still need refillable cartridges or a cis of some variety.

regards

Dave

Thanks for the reply Dave, yes the design is to complicated for cut vinyl, it's based on a "Jim Bamber" cartoon (he used to do a lot of them in Autosport etc.) hence the transfer paper route.

Thanks again

How about refilling existing carts with ink from Continuous Ink based in Cardiff.

Thats about the best idea that Jim has come up with being as you cant use the PC60......... Ebay have loads of refillable carts...matter of fact, just bought a set for my 1290 dye sub printer from the USA, approx £15 delivered, excellent service, recommended........

eBay.co.uk Shop - InkJetCarts: Refill Carts: Spongeless Refillable Cartridges Epson R2400, Spongeless Refillable Cartridges Epson R270 R390 RX590

hope this helps

Did a bit more seaching yesterday, and whilst I said I didn't want another printer I went and bought a D92 A4 today. Worked out that by the time I'd got the inks and ran the risk of maybe sending a printer to Valhalla I might as well spend £40.00 and get the durabrite inks.

Not very impressed with the build quality of the D92 veeeeeeeeeeeeery cheap and nasty but what can you expect for £40.00, if this paper works well I may convert the C82 back to durabrite and get a CIS dye sub for the 1200, only testing and time will tell

Thanks for all the input by the way, very helpful.

Dave, please let me know how you get on with those refillable carts, they look rather interesting.

will do Sharon, I have tried cheap refillable carts before purchased from Hong Kong and they were not so good.............these are from the USA, and first impressions seem to work very well...I use them with Rotech Dye Sub inks, had a couple of blocked nozzles a couple of times, but one cleaning and all was fine again.

regards
