Default New press has sticky edges...teflon cover?

Alright, I read a couple posts on the topic but they didn't quite answer my question....

My new Phoenix Phire press has an aluminum platen with a 1/2" wedge of foam glued on top...
it works well except for loading shirts (BIG bummer!), shirts tend to stick to the edge of the foam when I'm trying to pull it across....FRICTION!

Since the back/top of the press is 300+ degrees, there's not much room to move...
this make it difficult to align shirts without potentially burning your knuckles.

I see there are teflon "covers"...NOT "SHEETS"!!! ----- "COVERS"!

So is this what I think it is....?
A tool that allows the shirt to slide into place without resistance?

Because, why else would you need a cover on the platen foam?

I have the same press. I'm guessing you're talking about the bottom platen?

Yes, I bought one of those and it is a must have for me.

Not only does it help the t-shirt slide across the bottom platen, it also helps when doing 2 sided designs protecting the design from touching the bottom platen.

It fits on like a nice teflon bedsheet for your press.

Super effin' sweet!!

Being a screenprinter, the first thing I noticed was how much friction there was when I would pull the shirt into place on the bottom platen of the press. Brutal - instant disappointment!

I could see right-off how often the shirt could give-way and my knuckles would hit the skillet...
I print 200+ shirts week, so "ease-of-use" is monumental.

I'm getting OUT of screenprinting to make life easier...
I'll gladly accept burnt knuckles in place of a sore back,
but not without a FIGHT!!!!!

LOL!
