Default Too smelly for indoor vending?

I'm just getting into the whole heat press/vinyl thing. (I've done screenprinting, but I haven't received my heat press yet.)

I'm going to be at RollerCon next week and am thinking about being able to make custom shirts with the individual's roller girl name and number on the back.

So I'm wondering if it would be feasible to make & heat press custom vinyl transfers for shirts at an indoor venue. I know how smelly the fumes are when I flash dry my screenprinted shirts and I'm wondering if the vinyl transfer process is that bad as well.

The location is in a room with 12 other vendors, each at an 8' table, so I'm guessing it's a medium sized room, and I don't want to asphyxiate my customers or fellow vendors.

Thanks.

the only smell i've ever noticed is when initially heating a garment to remove moisture befrore applying heat-seal decoration - some shirts do have a pronounced odor. only lasts a few seconds - blame the dog!

You should be good to go. Almost no smell when heat pressing.

My fingers are crossed. I'm hopeing it'll do well and help pay off my looming credit card bills. Startup costs really hit one in the pocket book.

Have you check to see that you will have power to your table?
Will it meet your power needs?
Don't want to cause a blackout when you turn on your equipment.
With 12 other vendors that might need power all on the same circuit you will want your own power circuit.

So if I had an outlet all to myself would that be it's own circuit or would a couple of wall outlets in the room be on the same circuit?

Depends on how the room was wired.
Most of the time, all the outlets in a room/rooms are on the same circuit.
Could be that each wall in the room is on a circuit.
Best thing, call and ask.
Before doing that know how much power you need.
Look at the back/bottom of your equipment for a metal looking label/tag.
Should show the watts/volts and the amps(A).
Amps is the magic word. Add all the amps together and that is what you need at the outlet.
Most average circuits provide 15 amp service to the outlets.
That's 15 amps shared across all outlets on that circuit.

Yes the best thing is that your outlet has it's own circuit and provides 20/30 amp service.

Please post on how things go for you at RollerCon.

Great investment when doing shows is a HEAVY DUTY extension cord. A 100 ft /30A cord with a 4-gang box on the end can be a LIFESAVER!

Good luck!
