Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I've been having a very hard time getting my cut, weeded image to stick to the application tape so I can then slap it onto the shirt. I've tried spraying it with adhesive, pressing down really hard and everything but sometimes it just doesn't work and the image won't peel away from the paper backing. Here's what the image looks like:

This could really affect my shrink in the long run, any tricks you guys know of?
Are you using too much pressure to cut the transfer? Sometimes the transfer is pushed down into the backing making it harder to remove. You should see just a faint line on the backing from the blade after the transfer is removed.
Yeah, I think that's a part of it, some, but not all of the backing was cut into. I'll come down on the pen pressure. Anybody else run into this problem?
Is that colorprint?
....for colorprint, (and a paper I get from imprintables, I dont remember the name of it) I use conform R Tape. I quit buying the stuff that is suppose to be specially made for heat press transferrs. I found it left glue residue on the shirts. Its just too costly to experiment with different transferr tapes. I had the R Tape I use for our signs, and have never looked back.

regular application tape works? i was kinda confused and thinking that the glue thats applied to the tape would melt.. but you say you havent a problem? sounds like a learned something today. thanks robin
