Default Oil Base vs Non-Oil based

First Time posting; from US, NC
I have been running transfers for a while on a old school Ricoh 6513 (oil based machine) & have been in a service contract with Ikon;
I know that it is time to switch machines, but I think the sales reps are trying some funny business.

I think that a CLC 1100 type machine is the best fit for me;

BUT they are trying to direct me to NON-OIL based & I just don't have any leads on GOOD & CHEAP non-oil transfer paper;

Any suggestions out there???

Default Re: Oil Base vs Non-Oil based

Welcome to the forums, zax. I use a Canon CLC1110, and I'd say the oil based machines are the best to use for transfer papers. You have the options to use the cheapest paper, and not so much jamming on the machine. Also, even my tech support acknowledges that colors are somewhat inconsistent on non-oil based machines. But if you really have to get the non-oil based copier, check out the techniprint (from Neenah), or maybe the Duracotton HT, and some other hi-temp capable papers. Here's a compatibility chart from proworld to get you started: https://www.prodistributors.com/compatibility.html
