There are alot of good press' on the market. My only advice is to buy a name brand press that you can be assured you get service after the sale too. I would also buy atleast a 15x15 . This would allow you to be able to press about anything. Good luck......JB

With a 30" versacamm, it's good to have a bigger press, a 16 x 20 maybe.

I found a place online that sells plans to make your own heat press. I'm guessing this is risky?

hi, Sheila, Thing is you dont want to skimp on your heat press, if you are going to press mostly shirts and have the money my vote would go to the pheonix auto open 16x20, its fast and eliminates one step.

Kroker...do a search...there is a thread about 'do it yourself" the lady had troubles...no even heat...you buy the plans...buy a waffle iron at walmart..take it apart...use the heating element in this press...guess what...it presses about as good as you thing a waffle iron would!...save your $$..buy a name brand..US brand..not a direct from China or out of country as you will likely not have a good source for support/parts etc

There are no bad questions here...it just makes us think and then gives ideas to others...without questions like krokker we might all end up with a product that doesn't work...read and learn as I do..that is the beauty of this forum
