Default scorching/discoloration?

I was wondering if any of you haver come up against this problem:

I am heat pressing plastisol with a teflon sheet and have been noticing that the area of the shirt that is under the square of the upper platen has been coming up a shade or two lighter than the rest of the shirt. I am using gilden 6.1's and a mighty press. I have adjusted the temp. and pressure. Please help! I have an order to fill by tommorrow.

Ryan

I'm not sure why that would happen but I can tell you that the plastisol transfers I have come with instructions that specifically state NOT to use a teflon sheet or any other covering material.

Not sure why but it might be worth a try without the teflon.

Ryan, maybe you can add another 2 to 5 sheets of plain white paper to prevent the "yellowing" of the shirt.

I've found that the area of the shirt you've just pressed sometimes is discolored because all the moisture has been removed from that area. You notice the color change when compared to parts of the fabric that were not pressed. It may take a few days for that dry area to acclimate to the rest of the shirt depending on the humidity or just mist a little water on the area and toss it in the dryer for a few minutes. That always works for me.
