Question Xpres transfer paper - can't get any decent results

OK, what am I doing wrong here! Is it me or the paper?

I have Inkjet 1000 paper for light colour t-shirts, bought from a British company called Xpres.

I am following the instructions that came with it - right temperature, right timing, it says to peel the paper hot, so I do that. Yet every transfer I have done - none of them have come out properly, wasted about 10 t-shirts trying. There is always some specs and bits of transfer left on the paper, and they basically look awful because of it. Doesn't matter what I do. I've tried different pressures (the instructions says heavy pressure, and I've tried it as heavy as I can possibly do!). I've tried it on two different presses, but both have the same rubbish results.

I've pretty much given up on doing these types of transfer - I mainly do flex now (which I love and have no probs with), but I've just done a couple designs that would look nice in full colour, so I want to try again!

So, do you guys think it's the paper? Or am I doing something wrong.

I had a sample pack of the Inkjet 1000 paper from xpres a while ago, didn't really experience the problem your going through, mine seemed to apply ok (just really didn't like the feel of the transfer after pressing)......just a quick question, did you use a lint roller on the T-Shirt before pressing? it gets rid of the stray fibres / bits of crap on the T-Shirt that could stop the transfer transfering fully, I always use one, also did you pre-press the T-Shirt to remove any moisture before applying the transfer?, just my 2 pence worth. If you didnt, give it a try, maybe it will help. Let us know how you get on

Hi, I used the paper just yesterday and didn't have any trouble. I tried it on different Tshirts. One of the Tshirts was a more ribbed style and when I peeled the paper the transfer felt very lumpy and rough. I put it under the press again with teflon over it for a few seconds and it made it lovely and smooth. I would definitely call them if you have any further problems. You could have just received a bad batch or something.
