Default Plastisol Confusion

Can plastisols be 'ironed' onto fabric, or is it a case of me investing in a press before even considering using them?

Thank you in advance

You need a press. You need a combination of heat and pressure for the transfers to work well. A hand iron can't provide enough pressure or consistent heat.

Good luck,

Ken

Actually you can iron them to a certain extent. I wouldn't recommend doing it professionally, it's a total PITA, you may get patchy areas, but it can be done (and might even go off without a hitch if you're lucky).

If you just want to get an idea of what they're like, then an iron should be okay. But yes, you do need to invest in a press before using them in any serious way.

I'm not at all recommending an iron as a replacement for a heat press (it's not), but if you want a couple of samples to give you an idea on whether or not to go ahead with the larger investment, they're fine.
