Default Dark or Light Transfer Paper

I usually print my transfers on white or black shirts but I have a request for a Red t-shirt. Just wondering if I should use the Light or Dark transfer paper?

So, to answer the original question, you will almost certainly want to use opaque (dark) transfer paper. With light transfer paper, most of your colors will end up various weird shades of gray and black. (It is fun to experiment with, though.)

Thank you for the reply. So what is one of the top (Brand) papers in the market now?

Laser or inkjet? My opaque paper experience is limited to laser. I use Laser 1 Opaque. It seems to be very popular around here. I've only been using it a couple of months, but so far I'm very pleased.

I'm sure others can suggest good inkjet opaque paper(s).

Thanks. I was looking for both Inkjet and Laser.

If you search or read through the threads in the heat transfers section of the forum, you'll read lots of brand suggestions to try for both inkjet and laser transfer paper: http://www.t-shirtforums.com/heat-press-heat-transfers/

Some names that I've read are ironall, imageclip, duracotton.

I don't like opaque transfer paper and I haven't really read anything good about it here, so that may just be a matter of trial and error for you to find one you like. You can read more about opaque transfer papers here:

Depending on the size of the order, you might also want to consider custom plastisol transfers. Or contracting the job out to a screen printer.

StatusTees...DuraCotton will not work for dark fabrics. For now it is limited to white/ash light colors

I agree with Jeff and Rodney.. I knocked out 6 black tees for client that was in a rush ans used blue grid from new Milford. It is thinner. My client watched and I told him how they were going to look before I did them. he was in Hurry. When he saw them he said they were acceptable for the event he was going to but he wanted to order 24 plastisol next time.
