Hi , I know what you are going through I have an Epson 4000 only with the original pigment inks and it still clogs . Well actually mine was more of a clog , rather a malfunction somewhere , it still is not right . I tried using distilled water on the pad where the head parks and left it overnight , this did not work . Then I bought some cleaning cartridges because like you I was doing powercleans and wasting heaps of ink . Is it possible for you to get some cleaning cartridges ? and make sure they are for sub ink not pigment ink , with mine the instructions were to do powercleans with the cleaning carts installed and leave overnight and they try and break down the dried ink , maybe you could check that out as the cleaning carts should be less expensive than sub ink . When you do get it running again or even if you want to try now , I bought a small plastic container put in sponge and soaked it with water , drilled some holes in the lid and tied on a piece of string to the container with a red flag attached to in to remind me to remove the container prior to starting the printer . The container I place inside the printer to the side of the head , this increases the humidity in the printer and helps stop clogging . Have been doing this a while now and I think it helps . Got this information from an epson 4000 forum . Let us know how get on with it , best of luck .

If your printer is less than 4 months old...is it still under warranty? I would sure push Sawgrass for help rather than telling you just to clean heads..

sorry to hear of your problems. Hope you are feeling better and going to be fine in the future. i agree that you should have sawgrass take responsibility for the warranty and get you back up and running.

i would try to purchase cleaning cartridges instead of just running ink through the machine as it should be cheaper.

i also know of a utility that is being created specifically for this industry and will allow you to take any epson printer and flush individual cartridges as to not waste ink. rumour is it will be under a 100.00 and will have test printing for alignment issues, many different cleaning cycle levels etc all built in. i am sure it is being aimed at the dye sub, dtg and transfer market as there are just so many units out there and a lot of ink being wasted doing what you are doing now. it also will save on the everyday issues of possible air in a individual line that now will be able to be charged without wasting 7 other channels worth of ink.

it should pay for itself pretty quick in my experience.

thanks for replying..i'm sorry i'm writing so late because i had lost my internet connection..actually i was using somebody else's internet service since i have b/g wireless card in my labtop..so i guess they found it, but now i'm using my own tho..i have fixed my printer..there is a service center in detroit..i drove it over there..and they made me buy epson ink and they said that they installed it and printed perfect..had no problems..lol..i was like wow..i kept cleaning and cleaning for almost a month and they said that right when they installed the epson ink, they had no problems..and i told sawgrass that..but now when i uninstalled that epson ink and reinstalled my sawgrass ink..6 of the 8 catridges showed empty..i told sawgrass tech support that and they said that it didnt make any sense and refuse to exchange the catridges..when i had uninstalled sawgrass ink before taking the printer to the epson service center all the catridges showed half way full, but now when i reinstalled(well tried to) the printer showed 6 catridges empty!!..so now i decided to install epson ink(which i did..had known earlier i wouldve never uninstalled it) and go buy some transfer papers from walmart or online..thanks newayz
