For the last year I have been using blue grid(Dark) inkjet transfer paper . Until recently I have been very happy. However , within the last few months there has been many inconsistancies with the paper. Has anyone else noticed this? We use 600-1000 sheets per month. Some paper curls up when removed from backing paper , some curls down when removed from backing paper. Making it very hard to place tranfers and also destroying a lot of product in the mean time. Don't even mention the word preheat. Can't do it as the paper just curls like crazy. Can anyone direct me to a supplier of good quality injet dark transfer paper. Apperently my supplier is cutting costs in manufacturing its paper. I would rather pay more for a good quality paper than be throwing out product because the paper is cheap. I have not mentioned this suppliers name but suffice it to say it is one that is mentioned in these forums frequently.

Hi Gordo,

Have you brought this problem with your paper to the attention of the manufacture. He should replace any that's defective. With your volume he should be jumping through the hoops to keep you as a satisfied customer.

I have had good results with Alpha Gold Dark, it's a little expensive but in the quantities you expressed it wood be cheaper.

Hey Snarley! Thanks for the info. I will go check out Alpha Gold Dark. Yes I have been in constant contact with the supplier. He says he has no control over the quality as he is not the actual manufacturer. He also says I am the only one that has been experiencing this problem. But in a week moment he does conceed that there have been rumors that this manufacturer is cutting costs. All I know is that I use this paper every day and have for over 1 year and there is definately a major change in its quality. I really appreciate your input Snarley. Thanks again!!!!!

If you are looking for a quality print, I'd personally suggest trying to use plastisol and vinyl where possible and using less opaque transfer paper; even the best opaque transfer papers are going to be mediocre in overall quality.
