Default Plastisol transfers on button-down baseball jerseys

Hi all,

I had a customer inquiry about doing some team baseball uniforms. They have an ornate script logo that they would like across the front of a button down type baseball jersey.

My question is what is the technique for dealing with a shirt that opens up cutting the transfer in half? Can a plastisol transfer even be used for such an application?

Also, I'm guessing that these shirts are mostly nylon (or some synthetic fabric). Can they endure the kind of heat required for plastisol transfers?

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Artie

You can cut the transfer and press it in 2 parts , be careful mot to melt the buttons. ....JB

Geez, I didn't even think of that. How could that be avoided?

You could try cutting a mousepad a little bigger than your design, and put it under your shirt so that the buttons hang over the edge and are not pressed. One other thing to consider is that it doesn't look very good to just cut your design in half, because every time the shirt moves, you will see a gap between the 2 halves. So to do it right, you need to have about 1/2" of overlap on each half so that about 1/2" of the design is printed under the top layer with the button holes. That's the way professional jerseys are done with the tackle twill.
