Default Heat Press Location

If considertion of the electrical requirements were not a factor for a heat press (unfortunately it really is for me), what other things should I consider in picking where to place the heat press assuming I don't plan to make use of it in any portable fashion? Three possibilities for me include an upstairs bedroom / converted office, the basement, and the garage? What problems might you have dealt with these locations - I could envision moisture concerns in basement, just heating up house unnecessarily in the summer time for the office, and the fact that garages just get dirty. I'm babbling now...any comments on our experiences, suggestions, or other things to consider would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

I think you answered your own questions.I would use the spare room or the office. Good luck ... JB

As I am nearing purchase of heat press, I am concerned the only real opportunity for me may be the basement? Have people had any problems (dust, moisture, etc.) that have caused their heat presses problems? Ideally, I would be somewhere else but not sure that is legitimate for me right now. People who have success or failure stories of using basement - I would appreciate some insight.

Thanks!

If youur basement is dry you will be fine. You can get a small dehumidifier to help with the moisture. The up side is the basement will be cooler and heat pressing is warm work. ..Good luck ....Jb

I've had my press in the basement for the last 2 years and have never experienced a problem with it. I use a dehumidifier during the summer because it can get pretty humid down there. If your basement gets dusty (esp if the ceiling is unfinished and there are people walking on the floor above), you can always put a cover over the press when not using it.

As COEDS mentioned, there is the added benefit of it being cooler (I had moved my press into an upstairs room for a brief time and it made the top floor noticeably hotter). Good luck!!

That's exactly what I was hoping to hear as electrically that makes the most sense for my house and given the recent heat where I live we couldn't imagine heating up our whole house in the summer time. Thank you very much!
