Can you buy DuraBrite ink in Bulk? I didn't think so but I thought I would ask anyways.
In everyone’s experience. What would be the best replacement for DuraBrite? I am more worried about Less Fading and Bleeding than i am worried about hand.
The ink will have little to no effect on the hand, that is all in the paper you use. Here is an alternative to durabrite that works the same as durabrite.

I would argue with you there. That stuff is not like durabrite. i just bought some and its fades and runs.
Inkjetcarts ink is a good price but you get what you pay for. And I wount use it for heat transfers on t-shirts. After one wash it looks like it has seen many washes.
Thanks thou. they do have a good deal on refillable carts thou. And there ink was good for printing out flyers.
Alrighty then, I have not noticed the same fading problem as you and a few others mentioned. I guess I won't recommend this supplier anymore as the consensus seems to be negative. Thats the great thing about this forum, many people testing a few products gets a better feel for a product. I've not used any of the following inks but a few have been mentioned on the forum in the past. I'm sure others may be able to give feedback on them.
Sorry I didn't mean to come off like that. I have juse spent allot of time and money fighting with the ink from inkjetcarts and i'm not very happy with the outcome.
No worries , like I said before, thats whats so good about this forum, you get more than one and varied opinions. I have been doing mostly vinyl and a ton of flyers of late so I appreciate the input about the inks. I have only done a few shirts with the printer set up with the carts and ink I got from them. I have one I wear for events and have washed it multiple times without noticing much more fading than I normally get. I guess its not something I really looked at hard though . I will be taking the shirt out tonight to look at it in more detail now!
I know there have been some inks mentioned here before , I think Lou has a source for good inks he has talked about, where the heck is he when you need him LOL

For best results use plain paper settings for heat transfers.
This will give better black definition.

That was the ink that I was going to recommend. I think that's what Lou uses, also.
It's an ink that's specifically designed for the high temperature applications of heat transfers.
The biggest problem with DURABrite inks is that they tend to change colors under high temperatures, especially with the 375 degrees that are needed for papers like JPSS.
I believe when I finally buy a bulk ink system that those are the inks that I'll use.
I also switched inks because of the color shifting -- I bought inksupply.com heat transfer ink. Haven't had the time to get the refillable carts working, so of course, haven't seen what the ink is like... hope it's good! Bought after much research on this Forum and on the Yahoo boards.
