Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I am looking for a little help - I have never had this problem before but I just ran a bunch of Safety Green T-shirts on the Heat press and evidently it has gotten into the platen and it is turning all of my garments safety green!
I have tried Pressing it out, turning the heat up to burn it off of there, oxy clean, fantastic, - a little leary on trying bleach on it though??? I have tried all of these in combination and searched the web without luck - maybe I am searching for the wrong terms.
Anyone ever dealt with something like this? All info would be appreciated. I have a run of white shirts to do!!
I have used "Goo gone" with a very fine SS pad . . I have a friend that used "Groomers Goop" and just all purpose Goop . . he swears by it . . .
personally I haven't used the "goop" .. but plan on trying it the next time my press needs cleaning .
I would use a Teflon sheet between the heat platen and your transfer/T-shirt. This prevents any substances associated with the transfer or the T-shirt from coming in contact or transferring to the heat platen. As far as removing the dye from the platen, I would try and find a chemical that will cut the dye without destroying the platen covering. Just an idea, do you know any screen printers that use bean-e-doo to remove the ink from their screens. It's a soy bean product that might remove it. Good Luck on solving your problem.
I'm looking for a solution as well to clean my press. my press has burn marks on it, it does not transfer the burn marks on the shirt, but still wanted to see if I can clean it up.
