i am about to step into the world of t-shirt press
i was doing some research online and ran into this forum
there is lots of info and it looks a bit complicated

.. okay first question

in 7 hours i am meeting with someone who is selling a used

Seal Jumbo 160M Press


.... I plan to use this for my t-shirt business

does anyone know if this is a good machine?

second ..
what kind of black t-shirt should i order ...
is the 100% cotton good enough?

third ..
what should i look for in a printer
ink jet, laser, .....
some of my options are
Samsung ML-2010, Lexmark all-in-one 2200 series,Hp Deskjet 895Cxi, Epson Photo Stylus 820, HP Photosmart 1115,

Hp Photosmart 7260, HP laserjet 1100, Epson 925 Photographic printer,


HPSC 1210, Laser Printer Brother HL 5140

transfer paper .. what am i looking for ?

you really should do the various research if your serious about making this a business- and the info is easy to obtain on this site- i found tons of info that was more than helpful by just looking through the threads.

Charles - this isn't your question but the first thing you need to do is cancel or reschedule your meeting!

Then find out what you need/want, before spending your $

I did some research before i posted the question but couldn't find any reviews relating to pressing t-shirts .. i found some on photo mounting
... what should i be looking for in a press ?....

100% cotton is find. You can look through the wholesale t-shirts section of hte forum to read recommendations on specific shirts.

Search the forums for laser printer or CLC or inkjet printer and you'll find dozens of posts with recommendations

A lot of people swear by Stahl's Mighty Press because of their great durability. You should consider a few things when buying a press: price, clamshell vs. swing, surface area, warranty coverage, time/heat settings etc. There's a great ebay auction that includes a mighty heat press, shirts, transfers and more as a t-shirt business starter kit:
