Default Any suggestions for a newbie: alpha double green line paper canon printer?

I just got my heat press (Hotronix Auto Open Clam 6" x 6" - Commercial Heat Press) to make baby and toddler shirts.

I'm using Alpha Double Green transfer sheets (with my Canon iP4200).

I made a set of onesies and let my babies try them out. The colors bled a little when juice spilled on it and then again in the wash. Is it my printer that's the problem or is this just what heat transfers do?

Thanks !!!

I would try a different transfer paper (like ironall) and a printer that uses pigment inks instead of dye inks.

I have been using that paper with mixed results. Ive had to experiment and abandon the recommended settings. More pressure, little bit more heat, more time too. Experimentation led to much better results, might for you too. Good Luck!

We've tried about 6 different light colored transfer papers and the double green line is by far the worst. It cracks super quick, rough hand, and it's not easy to peel the backing if it even starts to cool. We paid $25.00 for 100 8.5X11 sheets so it's cheap, but you see why after actually using it.

Rodney's advice about finding a good Pigment ink is also a big reason why your shirts bled. I don't know much about Canon printers, but I don't think they're recommended for t-shirt transfers.
