Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I actually have a few of them that i got from differant places and they are all basically the same ..
I know that Imprintables warehouse has them.. and they are a sponser on this forum so i would start there..
The best investment is a teflon sheet.I can't stress tha enough.I t is much cheaper to replace a teflon sheet than it would to ruin the platen on your heat press. Good luck.... JB
I bought a teflon sheet way back when I bought my heat press. I only do sublimation and cover the transfer with a white sheet of copier paper and haven't used the teflon sheet very much. Now I do have a question: I was in a store and for $4.99 they sell something called an Oven Liner. It feels pretty much like a teflon sheet just a bit heavier duty. Can that be used? Now I'm not worried about cost or trying to get out cheap. But it is pretty convienant other then having to order them. Also if this can be used: I have a mug press, should teflon sheets be used when doing sublimation mugs? Thank you for any help! I hope these can be used because I'll goto the store and stock up (not that I have been using them much anyways). Also Silicon baking mats, I wonder if those could be used in a mug press. Any advice would be great!
I use a small piece of a teflon sheet to cover the mug in the press. I cut it off of a bigger sheet that was getting old around the edges. I tape the transfer and then I tape the teflon over that and it seems to help prevent scorching. I also just found a product someone finally made. It is a cover that fits over the top portion of the heat press so you don't need the teflon sheet. I just ordered it from direct2shirt.com. I won't get it until next week, but it seems like a great idea. I will try to update this thread after I've tried it.
