Is a 50% cotton 50% polyester blend t shirt ok to put a heat trnsfer on? I mean it does not have to be 100% cotton does it?

For the most part, yes, you can do transfers on 50/50's. I always read the instructions that come with the paper to make sure. For example, IW Jet 2 light trasfer paper from Imprintables warehoulse says it'll work on Poly/Cotton Blends while some others say 100% cotton only.

Is Gilden ultra the same as the gilden 2000 (6.1 oz. 100% cotton)?
Gildan Ultra cotton t-shirts are Gildan 2000 6.1 Ounce. Theres also a Gildan Heavyweight Cotton 5.5 ounce - mill number 5000. These are about $.25 less/shirt than the 2000's, but they're thinner and seem to shrink up a little more.

I just printed my first hoody with zipper and it didnt go well.

The first hoody, I heat pressed the plastic zipper...it melted.

On both of the hoodies, I can see the teflon paper's print after pressing. I guess I need a small teflon sheet .... lol

On one of the hoodies, it looks like I may have scortch it.

These hoodies were 100% polyester...not a good thing.

So I just ordered 90%cotton and 10% polyester. I will play around with the 50/50 later...need to get this small order out the door.
