Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I just recieved my 15x15 mighty press today and was attempting to apply some plastisol transfers from transfer-express. Well, I was following the directions as far as heat and timing are concerned, but as soon as I would attempt to hot peel the transfer, it was ripping portions of the transfer up with it. Can any one offer some advice?
I would check the press temp with a thermometer. If it is acturate, I would apply a little mor pressure. I have used Transfer Express and had great results. They have great customer support and a good message board too. Good luck .... JB
I've used transfer express transfers and they were best peeled hot.
Make sure you are pre heating the garment before you apply the transfer.
The temperature of your press should be tested to make sure it's reaching the correct temperature. As a test, try setting your press for ABOVE the temperature required to see if it makes peeling the transfer easier
You can get a laser themometer at Harbor frieght tools for less than $50. I know your close to me, we could get together and you could use mine. ..... JB
You might want to also test your pressure as well. The best way to do that is take a dollar bill and put it on your platen, press down on it and change your pressure until you cannot move the dollar bill. I agree with Rodney as well on the hot peeling of it, your temp does not sound right either.
