Hi !
I was browsing this forum for days, trying to find my straight answer...

now, i understand how the vinyl transfer works, But...

(using an InkJet Printer)

1. How does the heat transfer paper works on "white" t-shirts without using a vinyl cutter ? is it some kind of special transfer paper that doesn't transfer white (since t-shirt is white) so it supposed to transfer only printed colors ?
(please explain me how it works, if it's just a transfer paper to buy & print what exact paper do i need ?)

2. can i use my regular inks in my InkJet printer? or do i have to buy special inks in order to work with the transfer paper ?

In conclusion;
will i be able to make (plain white) t-shirts with different designs
like black text, or triangle shaped image without having white leftovers from transfer paper?

by using:
1. Transfer Paper
2. Ink-Jet Printer
3. White Cotton T-Shirts
4. Heat Press

I think I understand what your asking.....

Basically, if your using an inkjet printer and transfer paper, to answer your question, YES....you will have a big square...(unless you trim around the image...)

If your looking to accomplish simple lettering in one or two colors and/or images where just the lettering itself or image is transfered then you would need to use Thermoflex Vinyl that would be cut with a Vinyl Plotter such as a Roland GX-24....This will enable you to "weed-out" the excess material, hence leaving you WITHOUT the big square background....
