Default Where to begin?

My partner and I are trying to have some shirts printed and have come upon a bump with our supplier, we are looking to do our first run of shirts but we arent comfortable with our suppliers ability. We discussed it and decided to try to cut out the middle man and transfer the designs ourselves. We have a heat press but are looking for someone to have our images printed on the transfer paper. We are very new to this process and any advice wouold help including companies that can provide this service, tips on printing, and anything else to watch for...THanks.

1) If you don't have a printer yet, you can try some laser transfer papers (ex. the Techniprint paper from Neenah) but ask first your local copy shops if they would accept it, and also what type of Copy machine are they using (to check their compatibility). It's only for white/light colored cotton garments.
2) You can buy an inkjet printer. The epson C88 is the favorite starter INKJET printer of some forum members here because of the low price. Iron-All is the favorite inkjet transfer paper. It's also for white/light colored garments.
3) You can also order some screen printed plastisol transfers if the volume qty permits it.

If you need to have someone print your designs then you are really on the right track. You can save a ton of money by not doing a lot of the printing yourself. If you have a series of prints you can have them pre printed in Plastisol and print when you get orders. the more of the prints you print the lower the cost per print. I use First edition for my prints that I do not do myself.
