Default Epson

Hi
last week I asked for advice on buying a printer for printing transfers and the majority was Epson C-88.
My question now is:the all in one is the same price and uses the same ink would that not be the way to go. If it uses the same ink wouldn't it print the same.
Thats the Epson stylus CX5000 .Thank you

I have the cx5000 great printer with the added scan capability. Bought it to take to fairs and events to do custom transfers on site. Going to the first of these events for this year next weekend. Taking the cx5000 with us.

If you don't need the scan capablity then go with the other. Nice to be able to scan though.... jsut my 2 cents

Should be just as good. I have the C88+ and a CX4200 all-in-one. They print the same with the same inks.

Thank you both so much for the quick reply.I'm out the door in the morning to purchase it, just didn't make sense not to get the extra for the same price unless it didn't print transfers.
Good luck with your show hope it is very successful

I think (not sure) the main reason the C88 is recommended over the all-in-one systems is because it's easier to find bulk ink systems for it.

As far as I know, you would use the same bulk ink system for either of these 2 printers....

I wondered about that because you buy the same ink cartridges for both.I may call Epson and ask but most of the time they want you to pay for them to answer questions. Thanks for all the input.

If you use the same ink cartridges, them I am 100% sure it's the same. Of course Epson won't tell you if you can use the same bulk ink because they don't make them that way. That's how they make their money, on their cartridges.

Will the c-88 print legal size transfers? What is the best ink to use for transfers? Is there a brand that gives the most vivid colors and washability?

I can't remember where I read it here, but I thought one of the issues with using a "All in one" with a CIS bulk system, had to do with the ease of access to hook it up. That being said, there is a copany that seems to offer CIS bulk systems to a lot of Epson units, that others do not - Inkjetfly.com - Professional Choice of Ink Supply for Inkjet Printers
