Help with Temp and Pressure for 16x20 Mighty Press
So I just bought a barely used (tested a few times) 16 x 20 Mighty Press at an awesome price! That thing is HUGE! I really only needed a 11x15 as I am going to be doing smaller rhinestud and rhinestone designs.
Anyways I need help with the pressure and temp settings. How do you know how much pressure you are applying? Is the lower the pressure knob the more pressure?
Does anyone know what the temp settings are? Like what is a 7? I know I can look at the thermometer (thermostat?) for the temp, but I was hoping someone would know what the different numbers mean on the temp control. What is the standard time it takes to get to say 325F? It seemed to take a long time.
I think the temp should be 325-340F and 7-10 seconds at light pressure for rhinestones - this is according to my rhinestone motif supplier.
Thanks in advance! If you have any other tips on how to operate it well please let me know!
Re: Help with Temp and Pressure for 16x20 Mighty Press
Hi! I also have a Mighty Press 16X20 and I use Swarovski rhinestones all the time with it. The lower the knob the more presure> you were right. I was told to set the temp between 315 - 325 and set the timer for 20 seconds and i haven't had a stone fall off yet>> once I figured that it's best to apply them directly onto fabric (tees). In the beginning I was putting rhinestones over screen printed words and not all stayed on... Trial and Error! Hope that helps!

Those suggestions may or may not work for you. There are a lot of variables. I would start with Sugards suggestion and adjust from there. He may be using a different brand of shirts, different transfers etc. It will gives you a good idea where to start though.
