Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
Does anybody out there have a preference for transfer paper for dark colors Tees? It seems like it's a soft hand would be hard to find since more of the material remains on the shirt as opposed to light color transfers. I'm looking for durability and softness (if possible) Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
At the moment, I'm using Laser1 Opaque. Durability is acceptable, not sure if you'll like the "softness" though. I'm also trying out some transfers for print&cut machines. I heard some products from Imprintables are good enough. Next one to try for me are the Opaque transfers from Forever Germany, being distributed in the States by ICC ink. To tell you honestly, I haven't found an opaque transfer paper yet which will give you a soft hand. I think, that's just the way it is (for the moment), as the opaque base will almost always give you a "rubberized" feel.
And if you don't have a laser then the blue grid opaque is a good paper.

Hi Byron,
Just curious to know how the laser 1 opaque lasts after many washes?
May main concern in durability, I don't really mind the rubbery or thicker feel to it as long as it will last!
We'll, I would consider it "durable enough to sell". I haven't had a shirt for more than a year though, so you'll have to try it out for yourself also. Of course, you also have to put some recommended "washing instructions". At the moment, I'm also using the Forever Dark, and it's a little softer than Laser1 Opaque.
