Default Transfer ink apply by hand

I cant imagine no one else has asked this before, but I have no idea where to begin with searching for the answer.

Here I go.....if I wanted to draw something on transfer paper, how would I do this? Would my only option be plastiol ink or could I find and use the same ink used with inkjet printers?

If plastiol ink is the only ink, can I use this ink to draw onto transfer paper? I think I can, but I want to hear from someone who knows for sure.

Only those who have the answer to my questions, respond, please.

I suppose you could apply plastisol by hand to transfer paper, but it sounds like a fairly haphazard process.

Two better options: paint directly on the shirt with waterbased ink, or airbrush it (forum searches will turn up threads on this); paint on paper with procion dyes and transfer with a press.

I think I remember Lou posting that he drew on inkjet transfer paper with a sharpie or marker and it transferred to the shirt ok.

If you do draw something on transfer paper, don't forget to draw the mirror image

It seems to me it would be easier to draw the design, scan then print. I can't imagine being able to mirror your design while drawing it out.

You can use sharpies or even an inkpen. I was doing some testing and wrote some info on the transfer sheet. It transfered onto the shirt.

lol ,

hey Terry, just tried it.

No need to draw in mirror image on plastisol transfer ink sheets.

What i did was draw the shapes etc...on the backside of the plastisol ink transfers and cut it out by hand as you would with a cutter.
