Default T Shirt Pricing

OK, so I have a customer who is looking for 20 Black T's with one color white printing on the front. I will be doing them with vinyl transfers that I outsource. I press them myself. The total cost per shirt for me is $5. I am going to sell them to my customer for $12 per shirt. I am just curious if I am in the same ballpark as the rest of you out there or if my pricing is off?

i would charge more. it's a custom order and a really small one at that. $12 is like a walmart price. you are giving him something he can't buy in a store, don't be afraid to charge him for it!

my prices are alot more... 15 for black and white and 20 for colour... i buy transfer paper retail..(noob).. and ink refill costs $60 plus ...t-shirts around 3 dollars each...i am assuming even though i have just started the business and hoping to do well with my epson c88

i think your prices are very good for the cost you got it for...

Do you know a good place to buy transfer paper wholesale along with black/white tshirts??

For transfer paper, search the forums for ironall (or just hover your mouse over that word in this post). You'll find several good sources.

For t-shirts, search the forum for wholesalers, you'll find lots of great wholesale t-shirt vendors listed.

If it's a simple design (easy weeding), I sell them for about $10 each. If it's a more complicated design to weed, I'd sell them for about $12.

This is based on assuming my cost is about $3.50 per shirt - $2 for the shirt and $1.50 for the vinyl.

Of course, if they wanted 20 of them, I'd recommend screen printing and sell them for about $8 each, which gives a better quality shirt and a cheaper price.

I am screen printer and I would charge $7.50 - $9.00 apiece depending on shirt quality. That includes a $25.00 screen charge.

For 20 shirts with a one color design, I'd send them to my screenprinter and make my 15% just for taking the order. This will free up my time so I can work on the smaller orders that will yeild more profit.

If you are happy with your profit to time ratio and your customer is happy that's all that matters. I think this could be the sart of a long relationship with this custimer. You treat them good now and they will return and will tell a few others, but if you treat them wrong they will tell alot more people. I don't get hung up on price alone, I try to include the long term piucture. Good luck. .... JB
