Default help with heat press please please help

hi i have purchased a heat press
(last time i used one was at university...few years ago)
and i need help how to start using it(may seem like very silly questions)
ie do i need to remove the plastic type sheet which is a celotaped to the top bit of the heat press ?also on the onepiece of paper manual it says i should only connect it to ground line-does that mean i cant connect it to an extension wire?can i place the heat press on a wooden desk or does it have to be metal?
also any other advice you can give would be so very appreciated

thank you

Without seeing it in person, I would say yes.

You can connect it to an extension cord if you like. The thing you need to make sure of is that the extension has three prongs(one of them being a round prong, this is the ground).

Yes you can place the press on a wooden desk.
