Default Plastisol transfer repair.

I just wanted to tell you about a repair, I was able to pull off. I just posted a vinyl repair story and now for the plastisol repair story. I was in a rush to get a order done(never rush). I was using transfers from Ace Transfer Company. th top corner of the transfer didn't get heated and when I removed the paper I was horified. i had no extra hoodies and this ordered needed to be ready to pick up the next day. It was to late to order a new hoodie,so I was going to have to tell the cusomer that I would re-order a new one and get to them ASAP. I had just dodged a bullet earlier with a vinyl mishap, so I decided to cut another transfer and place the new over the affected area ( what could it hurt). I lined everything up and covered with a teflon sheet and clamped the press down. I removed the pieces of transfer paper and it worked!!! I was so happy!!. I had my wife look at the repair and she couldn't see it. The result was good and inovation again had shined on me. I hope this helps someone else out. Good luck .... JB

Default Re: Plastisol transfer repair.

In the past week I've had to do 4 repairs due to dropping or prematurely folding a shirt while it was still hot. Fortunately, fixing stuck plastisol (and vinyl) transfers is easy and works pretty well -- as long as you have extra transfers.

Cut your transfers into small, manageable pieces and repair a little bit at a time. The fabric can shift on you so it can be very hard to line up the whole thing and make sure it stays lined up while pressing.
