Default branded vs. generic ink (what's the real score?)

as the store/s of generic ink is growing like mushrooms here in US , we cannot deny that they really landed already (from china,etc..).

with these situation, can some guys share some experiences in using this generic ink/s either pigment or sublimation ? the reliability, testing, etc?? and also the CIS system ?

I just want to know the real score because I don't know if it will benefit us or just mess up our printers and work.
