Question Novice in heat transfers on performance fabrics

Summary of my question, where can I buy letters and numbers for the back of jerseys that would work on 100% microdenier polyester performance fabric (in par with Under Armour loose fit apparel)?

Some background on myself so yall can better understand what we need it for...

I currently work in athletic apparel industry as a clothing designer. Without self promotion, the company I work for makes the sport uniform basics and sells to screen printers across the US but we dont do any of the screen printing, heat transfers, ect in house. This is said to tell yall I do know a lot about performance fabrics properties and the like but since we dont do any of the finishing I dont have anyone to ask my questions about this kind of thing to go to so I came here.

My boyfriend and I are trying to make jerseys for his flag football team, so 6 home and 6 away jerseys plus like 4 more for myself and the other players wives and girlfriends... in other words a small number of shirts. Not for resale or anything... just a fun hobby of sorts.

We have built a four-color screen press to do the front design and have done a couple of different things with screen presses so we dont really have any problems (...well right now) with the front of the jerseys.

Our problem comes with trying to figure a way to do the number and letters on the back of the jerseys. This is our first time working with this performance fabric and so the normal letters and numbers we get have to be heated at too high of a temperature that burns the fabric.

Is there a place that we can buy the letter and number that are made to work with fabric without being a retailer or having to buy large quantities or would our best bet to just use the letters and number weve worked with in the past and play with the temp and how long we press them?

Hoping some one in this place would be willing to help! Thanks in advance!

Default Re: Novice in heat transfers on performance fabrics

I know this is late, but from what I've read, the burning of the fabric is a problem for the compression type shirts.

You would need a plastisol transfer that can be applied with low heat (see moo spot prints post about that)
