Default Printing on flex vynil

I heard that some guys print (solvent/eco-solvent printers) on regular "flex" vynil for heat transfer instead of printing transfer made for this specific purpose. Off course this actions has the only purpose of saving a few $$$ on the printing media but probably lowering final quality results. Can anybody coment on this please.

Default Re: Printing on flex vynil

You can print on many different kinds of vinyl. The colored heat adhesive vinyl will not work for printing on because it has a lamination coating on the surface. I have tried printing on spectra cut II with very poor results. The printable heat adhesive vinyl is made differently to allow for printing properly. I will have an extensive report on the versacamm in the near future and will post results of printing on spectra cutII with it.
