2 designs = 2 temps, how to handle
OK,please remember that I am a newbie.
I am doing a 2 part design, the first part I am using Spectra Cut II from Imprintables, the second part is a stock design from Proworld.
So the Spectra Cut is to be heat trans at 302 degrees, and the design at 385 degrees, so how do you do that?
thanks in advance
John

Re: 2 designs = 2 temps, how to handle How are the designs layed out? Do they overlap eachother? Do you have a teflon sheet?

Re: 2 designs = 2 temps, how to handle I'm guessing the vinyl is supposed to lay on top of the plastisol transfer. You can try to press the transfer, let it cool, place the vinyl down and cover with the teflon sheet and press again. I dont know if that vinyl is going to stick properly to the transfer ink. This is a testing situation for sure. I would rather it be the transfer on top of the vinyl.

Re: 2 designs = 2 temps, how to handle OK, well I just tried it. The vinyl goes down great, then I let it cool and put the transfer on top of the vinyl, correct time and temp. but it did not stick very well to the vinyl, any suggestions anyone?

Re: 2 designs = 2 temps, how to handle obviously the transfer needs to bind with the fabric as does the vinyl. Can you post some pics?

Re: 2 designs = 2 temps, how to handle Are you cutting your own vinyl? If so, perhaps you could cut in a way to remove any vinyl that would be under the transfer and instead have the vinyl reach just to the very edges of the transfer?

Re: 2 designs = 2 temps, how to handle This is going to sound a little silly. This is for a friend of mine. He works for the County and his shirts have an embroidered design on the shirt in the shape of the circle. The county gives them 10 new shirts every 6 months with the understanding that the cannot use them personally unless the remove or cover up the design. SO, I cut a circle to go directly over the design and that is fine, BUT I wanted to put a simple transfer over that so the vinyl circle did not jump out at you. And as I stated the transfer does not adhere WELL to the vinyl.
How to I upload pics?

Re: 2 designs = 2 temps, how to handle Why dont you try the transfer on top of the org. design. The embroidery may still cause a problem.

Re: 2 designs = 2 temps, how to handle David has a good point. The embroidery may still give you problems.
You may be able to remove the embroidered design by carefully shaving the threads from the back using a small mustache or beard trimmer.
