Default swing away or clam shell?

I was just curious. Is a swing away better to have if you have the space or is the clam shell fine. I'm just thinking of selling the press I have and calling Josh at imprintables. But I'm at a standstill of do I really need a swing away.

Red face Re: swing away or clam shell?

I use a clamshell because it takes up less space. I work in a small area and need all the room I can get.. trying to figure out where I am going to put the hat press when I get one,,, UGH!!!

I think a swing away is better if you're doing a lot of careful layout work (like lining up names and numbers on the back) and you don't want the heat on your hands. Otherwise clamshell should be fine. It's really just a preference.

space isn't a issue. The office is long with room for up to 4 more tables if I had to. So it seems its just preference. Think I will get a swing away stahl's swing away when I sell the rest of this stuff and clear the space for it. Thanks for responding. I'm never good with choices. At least I narrowed it down to stahl's now I just have to figure out which one fun fun

My first one was a clamshell. I never thought I'd care about the "frills" of a swing away. But when looking for a replacement, I stumbled on a good deal on a 16 x 20 swing away and it is so nice to have the extra room!

I had a rolling cart to put it on else I'm not sure what I would have done. But if you have the space, go for it.

this isn't what the office looks like right now, this is before we moved our stuff in, but it is a decent sized room. So, no space isn't a issue, choosing which one to get is lol.

I like the swing away because I'm prone to burning myself on a clamshell. I like the swing away for the ease of positioning transfers,names,etc......JB

Am really leaning towards the Sthal's / Hotronix drawer model, space saving of a clam with various substrate use like a swing.
