I just recently got back into shirt making, i am new to heat press, can anyone tell me the basics please? thank you

You might try going to YouTube and searching for "badalou". You will find a lot of videos that go over the basics of applying the most common kinds of transfers.

There are several articles and videos here that should help:

If you want a general overview and feel a book might help, I would definitely suggest buying the book "I Made That" which goes step by step into many of the different heat press processes.
