Re: Heat Transfer Equipment List: Getting ready to purchase my equipment.. thoughts??
I recently purchased a 16x20 clam press and decided to make my own transfer witht the Ink jet Paper it came with but when I went to print it did not stick. I have a Epson CX7800 that uses Durabrite Ink

Not to be a smartass, but did you print on the correct side. With some of the papers, it's not really easy to tell. You have to feel the paper. I was in a hurry the other night and I printed on the wrong side. The design stuck to my cover sheet. good thing I cover my shirts to protect the platen.

HA HA HA When it did not set on my t-shirt I thought that is exactly what happened so I printed on the other side and guess what "that" was the wrong side and it too stuck to the top of my paten. So I did print on the correct size, is there a rule to what temperature to use and seconds to heat set? I did 380 degrees for 10 seconds.
Re: pressed my first transfer - print didn't stick
Papers generally come with recommended time and temp settings. You may also need to adjust your pressure; I'd guess that it is too low. Search for past threads for more specifics of how to get a good pressure setting.
Re: pressed my first transfer - print didn't stick
I do 375 @ 12 seconds for my ink jet transfers from johnson plastics.
I think it's supposed to be 15 seconds I just realized, but 12 seconds has always worked for me.

Was the paper for lights or darks? Lou
