Kinda confused newbie question

Default Kinda confused newbie question

Alright well i bought a heat press now im alittle confused. Im gonna buy a C88 printer and im gonna buy transfer paper. What else would I need? Right now I figure I just print it off on the transfer paper, place shirt under heat press with the transfer paper ontop of the shirt..and I press and thats it? I hope im not missing something important

are you using a heat transfer paper for darks or lights. lights you have to mirror the image. darks you dont. make sure to follow the instructions on your heat transfer paper. some instructions will very, you might have to add/minus time, harder/less preasure. play around with your setting if you have any problems with your transfer. some papers are better than other. dont forget to use a teflon sheet on top of your transfer before pressing it. you can also use the wax/protective paper that came with your transfers

ampz267 has given you some solid advice, the best way to work with the transfers is to practise on scrap fabric until you get the results you want. That way you aren't wasting any of your t's. Good Luck!

one last question, for the wax paper, can I use like cooking wax paper? I'd assume its the same thing.

No. You can use parchment paper. Wax paper will melt onto the shirt.
