Default prepress shirts and getting little dark threads showing

Hi All!
I've tried to search for info on this, but I may not be using the correct wording.
I am a newbie so please be paitent w/ me!

When pre pressing my shirts I am getting small dark threads show up which are not coming off. I thought it was somthing on my heat platen (I think that is what it's called, the top heating plate) so I cleaned it and used a teflon sheet on top of the next tester tee. Well they showed up again. Any ideas what this could be? Obviously it has to be on the shirt so what to do? Anyone heard of this before?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Maybe it is? I did turn down my temp though and it still did it. Does it sound like a scortching effect? It is totally scattered throughout the pressing area. I looked on my other blanks and do not see any off colored threads prior to pressing. These are white 50/50 shirts.

I can't get a close enough pic to show the detail. It just looks like a lot of little black fibers. I will try again in the morning.

Hi,
It could be dust or specks from foreign threads/fabric.
Try to thoroughly clean your shirts with a lint roller before pressing them - works for me.

Tania,
Thanks, this is what I was thinking over the weekend. I'm going to try it first thing this morning. Wish me luck!

Thanks! That did it! It seems so simple and I feel like an idiot not thinking of this. It's just that the threads were not able to be seen until after heated!

Thanks again, I knew I'd find the answer here!
