Default The Background of the Image?

For all the things that can be printed using a dye sub printer and a heat press, what do you do with the image background? I was told you cut around it to get rid of the excess transfer paper because it looks bad, but what if you have an image that isn't connected, like just text? If you cut out everything, the letter will no longer be connected. If you leave it, you will be able to notice it. I am not really sure about things other than shirts, though, maybe it's less noticeable on other things. This has always kept me away from this kind of printer. I will either do screen printing or DTG just to avoid the background issue.

After you cut around your image you could then place all parts on the shirt where you want them to be. If you are doing many this could be a pain, but you can place them on the shirt to actually make the area transfered look bigger by the way you place the images. LOL ... JB

If you are using dye sublimation transfers, there is no need to trim around your graphic. There is not any film left on the garment...only the dyes migrate to the fabric.
