We use a ruler and good old eyeing it. Just curious if the tool is worth the 90 bucks and save on a few head aches in achieving tighter registration and faster set up times (a few seconds).

As JB said, a simple ruler and the seam of the shirt...plus a lot of practice wouldn't hurt...besides....there is no perfect tool, except for me!

I am bias. I am the guy that develop this tool. It came about because I brought my family into the industry and we do inkjet and dye sub transfers. The Vapor Apparel shirts are about $5.00 a piece. Any question as to if the design is straight or not was not going to work for me. My business is based on quality, because what I am doing is really no different than several other companies in Orlando,FL. So, quality is important to me. It is really hard to get upset with your sister or mother when something is done wrong.

The Perfect Transfers Tool (the use of the word "perfect" is only the name that a couple of people in the industry came up with) is pretty simple. Almost every registration system is based on three points. Look at the Tri-Loc system from M&R. In our case, you have the collar and the bottom of both sleeves. This is the technique that several large companies use with their laser laser alignment system, yet at a fraction of the cost. Whether the shirt is straight on the heat press or not, if you square the Tool to the shirt...you will know how to center the the transfer and exactly how far down from the bottom of the collar to place the design.

Is it the best production tool? No! If you are doing a very large order, look at a laser alignment system that is going to cut your production speed down dramatically. If you are doing only one shirt, will the Perfect Transfers Tool help? Yes. Will a ruler get the job done? Yes! The benefit of the Perfect Transfers Tool is when you have a small to medium size order or when you bring a new employee on. I go to a lot of shows and have no problem showing people how to use the Perfect Transfers Tool.

It was not long ago, I used several rulers as well. This will get the job done. I just wanted an easier way to help other people do the job for me and in a quicker way. Thus, why the Perfect Transfers Tool came about. Several key companies sell this product (including Imprintables Warehouse and Coastal Business which are Sponsors of this forum). Feel free to contact either of these companies to get their feedback.
