How to press ONLY the graphic with no box around it!!
Hello im very new to T-shirt Forums (just saying hi ) I saw this site as a great way to answer a question thats been frustrating me. I want to start pressing and selling my t-shirts over the web, but i want them to look professional. So when i press my graphic on my shirt i want only the image to show up and none of the background color. Like this...
(i plane on making alot of black shirts, hope the pic came up)
Do u see how the A still has the black space around it from the bitmap that it was made in? What if i only wanted the red A to press on the shirt and none of the black background. If anyone could help me out in anyway id love it much!!!!
Re: How to press ONLY the graphic with no box around it!!
The only way to do that is wither by hand which is a PAIN or you can get a cutter with an optical eye and it will cut it for you....Or you could just buy a T Jet but I am sure $20,000 is not in everyones piggy bank

If you are dealing in just a solid color you could either go with Vinyl (cutter0, or get a company to print up Plastisol transfers for you. It's the same as silkscreen, but it is printed on transfer paper and you press them when you need them. Plastisol is usually better with bigger runs.
Re: How to press ONLY the graphic with no box around it!!
In terms of the graphics program you just need to make the background transparent, but the real issue here is post production, not graphics editing; that is, you need to cut the transfer itself to not have the background.
If you want professional results you're going to have to look at using a different medium (vinyl, plastisol transfers, dtg, screenprinting, etc.).

Screenprinting doesn't use paper, the ink is printed directly on the shirt. For plastisol transfers, you can't print them on a home printer, you'll need to order them from an outside company.

You will need to contract a printer that can make plastisol transfers to print them for you. You send them the graphic, they print the transfer, then ship it to you, and you press onto your shirt.
If you use the search function here, you will find much has been posted about plastisol transfers. Some very good information here.
